The Oshawa attic insulation rebate didn’t expire after all. On October 27, 2026, Enbridge Gas extended Ontario’s Home Renovation Savings Program, which includes the standalone attic stream, to March 31, 2027. The previous end date was November 30, 2026.
Rebate Amounts
Oshawa homeowners can receive 50% of their attic insulation cost after tax, up to:
- $1,250 for a standard attic
- $750 for a flat roof or cathedral ceiling
No home energy assessment is required.
Older Core, Newer North End
Oshawa’s housing ranges from older homes near downtown to newer subdivisions in the north end, such as Windfields. Older attics often have thin or compacted insulation, while some newer ones may still fall short of R-50.
Check If You Qualify
Your attic must currently be below the program’s R-value thresholds, and the upgrade must reach at least R-50. A participating contractor must do the work. Homes that previously received an attic rebate from Enbridge, Save on Energy or another Ontario program aren’t eligible. The attic insulation eligibility quiz is the easiest place to start.
